100 Texaco Road Industrial Building

Noise was a problem for the owners of the industrial building. They had tenants in the floors above and below, and since some operating 24 hours a day a noisy job was out of the question.

Over Easter 2007, A-Pex sent in a VA 30SH machine – A 300 kg hydraulically propelled floor, equipped with a special drum that shatters each tile into small pieces. By the time the neighbouring offices returned to work after the holiday the 2600m2 job had been completed.

Waterloo Road

Anti Skid surfaces require vigorous preparation on concrete or asphalt before they are applied. Shotblast is the only method that can abrade the whole surface uniformly.

The photograph is of the shotblasting of asphalt on Waterloo Road in 2002. Aluminium oxide aggregate in an epoxy / bitumen mix was then applied to create an anti skid surface.

Chek Lap Kok Car Park

At car park number 4 at Hong Kong International Airport the important issues were noise and speed. Noise because of the proximity of the Regal Hotel only metres away and speed due to the risk of rain the contractor needed to be in and out in the quickest possible time.

Working 12 hour shifts A-Pex completed the whole 6000m2 within 6 days.

Our super quiet Shotblast machine produces a maximum of 82 dBA @ 5 metres – which is not much higher that a household vacuum cleaner.

Lee On Lane

Shun Lee Government Services Quarters in Kwun Tong has a 15,000 m2 car part with and epoxy coating. The epoxy coating had de-bonded but the carpark had to remain open.

Apex Systems (Hong Kong) Shotblast services were employed to remove the failed epoxy. We completed 750 m2 each day. The whole area was left completely coarse, clean and dust free, ready for the replacement coat of epoxy which was laid over the following two days.
